Winter Cocktails from Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey



Traditionalists and lovers of our native language might not like it, but it could be legitimately argued that the phrase ‘An bhfuil cead agam dul go dtí an leithreas?’ is the Irish language phrase most recognised by people in this country.
We all know, of course, that it’s a request to use the jacks that all of us would have had to use at some stage in our schooldays, but Tim Herlihy, a brand ambassador for Tullamore Dew in the US, gave it a completely new meaning in an appearance on The Broadcast, a syndicated daytime TV talk show based in Dallas/Fort Worth.

We were going to say that messing with one of the most well-known and best-loved phrases in the Irish language is bordering on sacrilege but because he got away with it and because the unsuspecting ladies completely fell for it, we’ll let him away with it.
